How to use Go Wild

Three steps!

1. Buy tokens and obtain beat info sheets

2. Fish!

3. Return your token and catch returns to us

1. Buy tokens and obtain beat info sheets

You can do this:

  • Online. You can buy tokens online and receive them by email or post. To obtain the beat information sheets, go to the download page: Download Beat Info
  • By post from ERT. Print a form off here: Order Form, fill it in and send us a cheque - we'll send out your tokens with the beat information sheets
  • In person from:
  • John Norris of Penrith: 21 Victoria Road, Penrith CA11 8HP

    Appleby or Carlisle TICs

    or the ERT office!

2. Fish!

Please make sure you've read the main beat info sheet with advice and regulations on first (see Before you fish page).

Please make sure you take your tokens with you! You may be asked to produce them by landowners, ERT staff or our team of volunteer anglers who look after the beats for us. And it's always easier to fill them in on site!

Included in the beat info packs is a blue car sign - we'd appreciate it if you'd put this in your windscreen if you use the Go Wild parking spaces.

3. Return your token and catch returns to us

You can do this:

  • Online. Fill in the form at: Token Return and submit.
  • By post. The beat info packs come with an envelope - please put a stamp on and post it to us
  • In person at John Norris of Penrith, or the ERT offices (address below)

We need the tokens or the information on them returning to us so that:

  • We can pay the landowner 80% of the token value for your use of their bit of river.
  • We can use the Catch Return data to help in our fish population monitoring program - even a nil return is very valuable to us. We will update the site regularly as returns come in throughout the season, so you'll be able to see which beats are most productive.
