River Lyvennet and Trout Beck

Beat 4: River Lyvennet: Kings Meaburn Beat
2 Tokens
Brown Trout
Nearly 2km of single and double fishing on the beautiful River Lyvennet.
A limestone river, with stunning scenery, easy access, and easy fishing.
Wild brown trout and spawning salmon, and of course very greedy salmon parr, are all known to be in residence.
A cracking river to cut your teeth on, or gently edge your way back into small river fishing.

Beat 10: River Lyvennet: Crossrigg House
2 Tokens
Brown Trout
Over one kilometre of double bank fishing
This beat is on an extremely picturesque reach of the River Lyvennet, (one of our many limestone tributaries). Good for otter sightings and home to the rare white clawed crayfish and of course some good sized, though elusive brown trout.

Beat 11: River Lyvennet: Crossrigg Farm
2 Tokens
Brown Trout
Almost one kilometre of right bank fishing with a little bit of left bank thrown in for good measure.
Another fabulous beat in the stunning Lyvennet Valley with some very nice pools. Once again we are uncertain of the stocks and access may be a little challenging in certain places.

Beat 13: Trout Beck: Bridge End Farm
2 Tokens
Brown Trout & Possible Grayling
Nearly 1km of both double and single bank fishing.
This long stretch of the Trout Beck meanders across the Eden flood plain. There should be some good fish here, perhaps even the odd grayling escaping a flood in the main river.
Stocks
We don’t know! Some good fish have been taken upstream and down. Please let us know.

Beat 19: Trout Beck, Long Marton
2 Tokens
Brown Trout
800m left bank fishing
This area has seen little fishing pressure so these trout are wild! There are some nice dubs and runs here but not that much cover so some pools will have to be approached quietly.
STOCKS: There should be some decent trout up here in the larger dubs, 1/2lb trout have been seen just up stream of the bridge at Long Marton. Also keep an eye out for Brook Lamprey, which have been seen spawning in big numbers just below the bridge.
USEFUL INFORMATION: There’s a pub in Long Marton up the road, which does food during lunch hours and there is also the town of Appleby in the other direction which is a bit further away but has plenty of bakeries and a sandwich deli if you fancy a greater choice
