River Irthing and Lower Eden
**Note: Beats 23, 25, 28 & 29 are Grayling only beats, open from October 16th to January 14th**

Beat 24: River Irthing
3 Tokens
Brown Trout, Grayling
One kilometre of left bank fishing
This beat covers the last 1km of the river Irthing before it runs into the river Eden just below Warwick Bridge. Despite being a good beat it is not heavily fished, so there should be some very good sport with brown trout as well as plenty of grayling

Beat 9: River Irthing
2 Tokens
Brown Trout, Possible Salmon
One kilometre of left bank fishing
The River Irthing drains the area around Spadeadam, in the Northumberland National Park. It flows south west to confluence with the Eden near Warwick Bridge.
The Irthing forms the border between Cumbria and Northumberland, and the Roman border of Hadrian’s Wall runs along much of the river’s length. From the late 13th century, this area was a battlefield, with raiding, arson, kidnapping, murder and extortion being common. Family feuds and violence were a way of life. Hopefully your fishing will be much less eventful.
A very peaty water, the Irthing runs the colour of black coffee, or Theakstons Old Peculier, (depending on your preference) throughout the year.
**GRAYLING CLOSED**

Beat 23: River Eden: Warwick Hall
4 Tokens
Grayling
**16th October to 14th January**
650m of left bank fishing
Fishing only by prior arrangement due to pheasant shoots - phone landowner first
This is an excellent section of the river Eden, which has fantastic Grayling fishing: perhaps some of the best in the region. This river is well fished for salmon and occasionally trout but the grayling are not frequently pursued.
As this part of the Eden has a large salmon fishery from February to October the beat will be closed for grayling at this time. During the rest of the season, over winter, (which is often the best time of year for grayling), Go Wild will have fishing access to the beat.
STOCKS: Fishing here is restricted to Grayling, but there are large numbers of them, which often shoal. Plenty have been caught over the years, and this section has a particularly good run and riffle section just downstream of the island.

Beats 25 & 29: River Eden: Holmegate (North & South Beats)
Beat 25 (South): 4 Tokens - Beat 29 (North): 3 Tokens
Grayling
**16th October to 14th January**
These are excellent grayling beats on the lower reach of the river Eden. They are long beats which cover over 1.5km of the main river Eden; the main fishery is for salmon so the grayling fishing is currently at a low intensity. This is an open, relatively straight part of the Eden making fly fishing and accessibility extremely easy.
STOCKS: There are good numbers of grayling: plenty have been caught and to a good size.
**GRAYLING CLOSED**

Beats 26 & 28: River Eden: Crosby (North & South Beats)
Beat 26 (South): 4 Tokens - Beat 28 (North): 3 Tokens
Grayling
**16th October to 14th January**
This is an arcing stretch of the lower River Eden, with deep pools and long runs. The beat starts just below beat 25 and it also has plenty of casting space from its open banks.
STOCKS: As with beat 25 there should be plenty of grayling here which are not fished for regularly, so seek out the best runs and try fishing with something pink!
